If you work for a Non Government Organistion (NGO) and have previously studied, or are currently studying, for a social work qualification that meets the educational requirements for Social Worker Registration then you may want to investigate the NGO study awards. These awards are administered by Family and Community Services, a service line of the Ministry of Social Development. Details can be found here.

Victoria University of Wellington’s Graduate School of Nursing, Midwifery & Health is pleased to confirm we will once again offer our Postgraduate Certificate in Health (Allied Mental Health) programme in 2010. Applications are now being accepted online at https://signups.victoria.ac.nz/oes/ for any new graduates who may be interested and eligible to undertake study in 2010, from Central Region the Lower North Island and the South Island. Applications are limited with 15 fully funded places available from Te Pou, the mental health development workforce agency for our programme.
If a student is graduating as a social worker or occupational therapist then they would be eligible to apply, particularly if they meet the Clinical Hours as specified by Te Pou ( they need to be employed in at least a 0.7 position), and be within their first two years of working in mental health.
