ANZASW Fees for 2007/08

ANZASW has decided that for 2007/08 any new member purchasing the competency assessment service will receive complementary membership of ANZASW for one year. Therefore, new members will be invoiced one amount for competency assessment rather than two separate amounts for competency and membership. The fee for competency assessment for 2007/08 will be $670.00 (inc. GST) for those earning over $32,000. This fee will be invoiced at the point that someone is accepted as a Provisional Member and can either be paid immediately or in 12 instalments. We believe that this represents a competitive charge for competency assessment at the current time.

Any new member of ANZASW who for whatever reason is unable to present to a competency assessment panel should contact National Office to discuss their situation. If they have a valid reason for being unable to present to a panel then they will receive a refund of $300.00 (inc. GST). The member will have had the benefit of access to a competency workshop, advice from the assessor and the competency assessment preparation material. They will also have had access to the other benefits of membership including the ANZASW publications. Therefore the refund represents the recoverable costs related to the final steps in the process.

Ongoing membership subscriptions for members earning over $32,000 will be $270 (inc. GST) for 2007/08. Members who retain continuous membership of ANZASW will be able to complete the recertification process free of charge. However, those who decide to resign their membership having become registered and rejoin later to complete recertification will only receive a discount based on the number of years that they held full membership status. Each year of membership following year one, represents a 25% discount on the $300 (inc. GST) cost of recertification. Therefore, a member who resigns at the end of their first year of membership will pay $300 (inc. GST) for recertification plus $270 (inc. GST) for membership for the year in which they complete competency.
